Structural Integration

Structural Integration is a manipulation of the fascia throughout the body to re-align your structure. Once the body’s holding patterns are released, it can then move with ease. As long as we brace parts of the body in our daily activities, posture, mental & emotional tensions, we fight the force of gravity. By giving your weight to gravity and moving with it, the body works as an integrated whole. Aches diminish or disappear with better alignment. Together we assess habits of movement to find new awareness in the body, to keep the changes accomplished in session, or to create new habits.

Dr. Steve Piper

Chiropractic Care | Kinstretch

First and foremost chiropractors should help you move. I believe in a move first mentality as a way of life: we are born to move and sometimes pain and dysfunction present challenges. This is where I can help. Let my 12 years of movement-based, post secondary education be your first line of defence.

Options to book:
*Ten series to systematically cover the whole body for long term alignment. A process of balancing your body instead of a quick-fix that may only be temporary.
*Four sessions allows us time to work specifically with a chronic issue or area of concern.
*A one-time visit to find out if this is for you. It can be the start of a process or a standalone session. Sometimes this is a “rescue” session done for someone in dire need of immediate relief.

Nick MacDonald

Physiotherapy

Nick grew up in the Lower Mainland and after finishing high school he attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and graduated with a BSc in Kinesiology. He moved to Vernon in 2013 attracted to the Okanagan lifestyle and endless outdoor recreation the region has to offer. After working for Progression as a Kinesiologist, specializing in rehabilitation-based exercise programming, he felt it was time to advance his education in the field. He returned to the clinic with a Master of Physical Therapy from UBC in 2019. He draws on his previous experience working as a kinesiologist with emphasis on movement-based rehabilitation to ensure clients achieve the results they are working towards. His evidence-based treatment approach includes joint and soft tissue mobilization and exercise rehab therapy. He strives to empower his clients by providing them with the tools and education needed to create meaningful outcomes. From activities of daily living to competitive sport, he wants his clients to move easier, perform better and be more resilient.

Outside of the clinic Nick is well connected in the community through the local bike club and his participation in various sports including soccer and hockey. He can be found up on the hill in the winter or mountain biking in the summer.

Nick looks forward to developing his manual therapy skills through continued education to further help his patients reduce pain and maximize their mobility.
